Customer Rating: Summary: Boxed Marbles Comment: I bought two sets of these to go with the Melissa & Dougs Chinese checkers board because the marbles that come with it are very difficult to play with because of the background on the board and the color of the marbles. I picked out 20 marbles to use with the board and then gave the boxed sets to my two grandsons and we learned to play marbles together. They enjoy having their own boxes and will use them for many things over the years. I do hope they are durable!
Customer Rating: Summary: Really nice set but some weird marbles Comment: This is the 3rd and final in my "Marbles" reviews. The 1st is at "Classic Marbles" the 2nd at "Tub of Marbles". Again, this is from the point of a player looking to entice non players to try marbles. The box was great and the pouch inside is simulated leather, really nice. Both of these are worth the price for the set. The marbles are unusual. About half are more typical marbles including a few cat eyes which are rare these days in cheap sets. But the other half, while being cool colors, have been sprayed (I guess) with some sort of glitter. They are definitely not smooth. I showed the set to some players in the neighborhood and, to a kid, they wouldn't accept my offer to give those marbles to them. It's not a reason to pass on the set, just be prepared for a variety of responses and if you find them buried in your grandkids sock drawer, you have a hint as to why.
Customer Rating: Summary: Yeah for marbles! Comment: This is a great little set - the box is nice enough to keep on the coffee table. I use them for therapy - picking each marble up from the floor with my toes and depositing it in the box, so it is great to be able to keep the box out in view.
